Special Interest Group on
Indian Language Speech Processing
An
important activity of ISCA SIG-ISLP is organization of advanced
schools. This series of Winter Schools in Speech Audio Processing
(WiSSAP) is aimed towards providing a regular forum for research
students, faculty and R&D engineers working in these areas to
enhance their background and appreciate the nuances of frontier
knowledge. Each winter school focuses on a theme.
In addition, ISCA SIG-ILSP speech processing activities such as conferences, workshops.

on Spoken Language Prosody', November 25-27, 2009; C-DAC, Kolkata.
- ICON 2009, "7th International Conference on Natural Language Processing", December 14-17, 2009; IIIT, Hyderabad.
- WiSSAP 2010, "Audio Content Analysis and Retrieval", January 12-15, 2010; IITM, Mumbai. The
program includes invited lectures from Dr. Xavier Serra (University at
Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona), Dr. Malcolm Slaney (Yahoo! Research) and
video lecture by Dr. John Makhoul (BBN Technologies). Topics that are
covered in this workshop include the theory, applications and practical
aspects of audio content analysis and description, as well as building
large-scale retrieval systems.
